Fast-track implementation of a complex roster change

An iron ore mine in the Pilbara with 2000 employees needed to quickly transition from a variety of multi-crewed rosters to a set of nested even time arrangements.

Orkest identified the variations of 7/7, 8/6 and 14/14 roster options that would meet their requirement and then helped map out the employee transitions to their new crews and the new flight and camp arrangements to support the ongoing arrangements.

“I am pleased to recommend Orkest Consulting for their exceptional work in helping us address a significant workforce challenge. We had a requirement to move our entire FIFO workforce from a variety of rosters to a set of 2:2 and other even-time rosters within a very aggressive timeline, which could have had a major operational impact had it not been planned and executed well.

Orkest Consulting quickly understood our complex situation and provided several recommended solutions that would work for us. They worked closely with us during the transition, providing excellent guidance and support throughout the process. Thanks to their expertise and commitment, the transition went very smoothly, exceeding our expectations in terms of having no operational impact.

Overall, I highly recommend Jim and his team at Orkest Consulting for their exceptional work and expertise in dealing with workforce challenges.”
